About

Who am I?

My name is Callum and I’m interested in how learning in museums takes place, it’s benefits to our audiences and communities and the potential challenges and risks that museum professionals face in cultivating and facilitating this learning.

During the years 2014-2017 I studied for my bachelors degree in History at Manchester Metropolitan University and subsequently worked towards my masters degree in Art Gallery and Museum Studies at The University of Manchester during 2017-2018.

I have been working in the museum sector for nearly five years now and have worked in several roles including Collections and Programming. Currently I’m working within a dynamic hybrid role within Visitor Experience and Learning; facilitating various direct and in-direct learning experiences for a range of visitors and learners.

This site is a place to record my discussions with museum professionals using their lived experiences to explore topics surrounding learning and engagement. In doing so, we can explore together how museum learning can benefits us all.
